If Not You, Who? If Not Now, When?

By Marike Stassar

I am sure you have heard this statement before. It is a call to action to be the change you want to see in the world. Because what the world needs today is people like you and me, who want to make a positive contribution, so mother earth is cared for and all life can flourish on this beautiful planet.

When our physical, mental, and emotional needs are met, sooner or later, we all come to a place from where we want to be of service. Our highest purpose is to serve others with our unique gifts and talents. And doing meaningful work brings us immense joy.

So, it is a win-win!

However, I have seen that there are two things that keep us from living a life from our highest purpose:

  1. We don't know our purpose; we have never truly looked inside ourselves to discover our soul's desire, our why.

  2. We feel not good enough because "who am I to ….?"

Last year in PWN's newsletter, I talked about finding your soul's purpose. This time I would like to talk about the other stumble block: the imposter syndrome.

What is imposter syndrome?

Simply put, imposter syndrome is doubting your skills, talents, or accomplishment. 80% of women and 40% of men have it, so you are in good company! Some don't even know they have it. It involves feelings of self-doubt, not being good enough, low self-confidence, fear of failure, and wanting to be perfect. We all know that these feelings are not serving you when you want to go out there and make a difference in the world.

How to deal with it?

Real confidence comes from finding and living your purpose with a career that gives you meaning. One thing you can do is to dig into your why (check out Simon Sinek's book and my previous newsletter post). Another powerful thing is identifying and reframing your core beliefs, values, habits, and emotions deep in the subconscious.

One of the techniques I love for this is Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®), created by Marisa Peer. It is a technique that achieves lasting results very quickly and combines principles of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP and CBT and neuroscience. Anxiety, stress, a lack of self-esteem and addiction are just a few of the many ailments RTT® can help alleviate by going to the root cause of the issue and rewiring the brain's neural pathways.

How can we help each other?

I am committed to helping people live their full potential and use their unique gifts and talents to make the world a better place. This month I am graduating as RTT® Hypnotherapist, and to celebrate, I would like to offer a free RTT® session to a few PWN members as a gift.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, let's connect. I can't wait to help you transform your life! Because the world is waiting for you.
